Learn About the Countries: Germany
The
second largest economy in the world, Germany's regions are sharply defined and maintain their distinctive character, each with it's own dialect, traditional dress and foods (and it's own way of defining homeland, or heimet ). Though "reunification" seemed to be the defining word of the decade, history may judge that Germany is, despite it's aspirations, a political union of very different cultures. And therein may be the secret of it's attraction.
