Learn About the Countries: Poland Exchange Program
 

Poland is central in the European continent and the largest country in eastern Europe. Poland was the first of the communist block to gain independence in 1989. 60% live in urban areas. The largest city is Warsaw with 1.7 million people. Folk music is alive in Poland; It is often played to accompany traditional dances such as the mazur, krakowiak, and kujawiak.

  • Polish is a Slavic language and is difficult for English speakers, but most students are able to express themselves by Christmas. English is also commonly used.
  • Religion - Roman Catholicism, plays a major role in Polish life.
  • Poland has done an excellent job of transfer from Communism to Capitalism.



By far the greatest challenge is the language.
