In a nutshell, hosting is inviting a foreign teen between the ages of
15 and 18 to become a part of your family for either an academic year or
a single semester. Our student, your new family member, IS NOT A
GUEST. They become an intricate part of your family and your day to day
lives. If you have children of your own, your student should be treated
just as you treat your own son or daughter. They expect to be given
chores such as taking out the garbage, helping to clean up the kitchen
after a meal, washing the car, etc. No different than your own
children's chores. Our students all speak English. All our students
carry full medical insurance. Lastly, but most importantly, all our
students are on program because they want to experience life with an
American host family and attend an American high school. Each student
is carefully screened to assure that he or she is prepared to become an
exchange student. Your student will attend your local high school.
Hosting a student is the best way to experience a different culture
without leaving the comfort of your own home. It is a great way to make
a lifelong friend and learn about another country at the same time.
Don't just take our word for it, listen to what these people have to say
about their hosting experience:
"I have had so much fun with our exchange student, Joseph. He's like
a brother to me. After he left, I got to visit him in France and had a
blast. I am so glad we hosted him." - Michael
"Philip is such a good kid. He's always cracking jokes. The kids love
him; hosting him was one of the best decisions we have ever made." -
Rich and Pam
