Country Fair and Holiday Weekend Overnight
 

The Country Fair and Northfield Rotary Club Holiday Weekend event will take place Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2, 2007.

ARRIVAL ON SATURDAY:   Arrive at Roseville Area Middle School, 15 E. County Road B2, Little Canada, MN by 8:00 a.m., ready to help set up the Country Fair.  (See map).  At the conclusion of the Country Fair, buses will leave from the school for Northfield, Minnesota for exciting fun and adventures!

DEPARTURE ON SUNDAY:  – When you leave to go home on Sunday, you may be picked up at either location (whichever is closer to your home):

10:00 AM pick-up at Olympus Athletic Club, 1000 Highway 3 South, Northfield (directions on next page)

     OR

11:00 AM pick-up at Mall of America – Transit parking lot on the Mall side of Lindau Lane (NORTH side of Mall), between Nordstrom and Sears.  The buses will be yellow school buses marked Northfield Lines.

COUNTRY FAIR

What you should wear:  Wear clothing representative of your country or culture, or your Rotary blazer.   

What you should bring:  Posters, books, pictures, articles of clothing, toys, flags, maps, food items to share (if you have any and want to share), hand-made items, etc.  Put your name on your belongings; don’t bring valuables

What you should do:  Talk to the kids and their parents!  Let them know how wonderful it would be to be assigned to your home country! J

When you arrive:  Check in and go to the area where the Country Fair will be held (someone will guide you).  We will have refreshments for you, and lunch.  When the Country Fair is over and the outbound candidates and their parents have left, you will be transported by bus to Northfield – and the festivities will begin!

OVERNIGHT

The FUN BEGINS at the Rick and Chris Estenson farm, with hayrides, a campfire, food, activities, photo opportunities, and very special visitors!  The fun continues at the Olympus Athletic Club for the overnight (more food, dance floor, puzzles, games; showers available).

What to bring for the overnight:  WARM CLOTHES (including hat and gloves), sleeping bag, pillow, camera, personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, washcloth, towel, comb, etc.), music CDs (WELL MARKED WITH YOUR NAME), etc.  DON’T bring valuables; DO have your name on your belongings, and be sure you have everything before you leave on Sunday.  If you have questions, please contact Diane Confer (diane.confer@comcast.net or 763-553-1604) or one of the Northfield Rotarians (listed below).  We look forward to seeing you!
